Site Visit three- Martin St House

Reinforcement with safty pads on the ends, to prevent injury. OHS
Reinforcing Wire

Again this is another house that is being built in the area. Similarly to the other two houses, consideration needs to be taken to wind loads and the effects of salt water on materials such as rust due to area. This house is still in its early stages of construction, Again the site has been escavated to allow for an underground garage. As it is on a sloping site a stepped footing would be the preferred footing to use. There are numerous sheets of reinforcing wire on the site which would usually be placed on top of the slab and gravel with plastic for a garage. There are steel exposed bars of reinforcement coming out of the footings also.
